Do you need planning permission for conservatories?

16/04/2014

In the past the issue of planning permission for conservatories has been a very confusing subject, with homeowners unsure whether they would require permission or not.

Since the 1st October 2008 conservatories are considered to be a permitted development and on the majority of occasions you won’t need planning permission. There are some limitations relating to the size and height of your conservatory – you are not allowed to cover more than half of your garden with the new room, or build higher than the top of your existing roof.

We have considerable experience when it comes to dealing with planning permission and would be happy talk you through the issues relating to your individual circumstances. Where planning permission is required we have a dedicated team who can manage the paperwork on your behalf, ensuring you receive the relevant consent and permission for your new conservatory.

If you would like to speak to us about any issue relating to planning permission for a conservatory do not hesitate to contact us by calling 01953 600505 or by popping in to see us at our showroom in Wymondham or Diss.
