Installation of the Month: Gable-End Conservatory in Downham Market03/03/2016
It’s been a busy year already here at Conservatories Etc with lots of interest and lots of installations. Every month, we’ll be picking our favourite installation to show you in our blog – and in February 2016, it’s a gable-end conservatory we installed in Downham Market for Mr and Mrs Howland.
The finished gable-end conservatory measures 4.6m x 4m – a substantial addition to the house that gives Mr and Mrs Howland a new room.
French doors open onto a paved area and lawn, giving the family the opportunity to make the most of the warmer weather.
The roof is constructed from solar-controlled, self-cleaning Activ-blue glass. This special glass reacts with natural light to stop grime from attaching to the panes, and its hydrophilic properties mean that water will spread evenly over the surface instead of forming into droplets. This glass is clever stuff, using rainwater to keep itself clean! The blue colour allows for maximum light transference without superheating in the summer.
