Installation of the Month: Lean-To Conservatory in Debenham12/07/2016
It’s always a pleasure to add a conservatory to the house of someone who really takes pride in their garden. We recently completed an installation in a beautiful country garden in Debenham in Suffolk. The existing lean-to on the back wall of the house had seen better days, so we replaced it with a newer, smarter model that will give the homeowners a wonderful view of their garden all year round.
The existing structure was rather run down and had become a bit of an eyesore. It wasn’t really in keeping with the rest of the pretty garden, and the homeowners wanted to have something study and smart put in its place.
We installed a 3m x 3.1m garden room with an additional veranda, making the total width 4.6 metres. The garden is accessed through attractive French doors that will provide excellent ventilation during the summer months. We plastered the high wall, making the conservatory feel more like a part of the house, and our qualified electrician installed two double socket points and wall lights, making the room a really usable space.
The roof is made from Activ™ Blue glass. This modern glass is self-cleaning and the blue tint helps control the temperature inside the conservatory, stopping the room from becoming too hot during long exposure to direct sunlight.
