The European Colour Revolution14/01/2016
Our cousins over the Channel have long been more open to variety in their approach to colour. In England, plain white is by far the most popular choice for window frames and sills, but in Europe, there has been a significant shift towards colour. Homeowners are increasingly opting to personalise their homes with a range of complementary woodgrain colours. The European colour revolution looks set to take off here.
Resolving the Interior/Exterior Dilemma
Remember that the inside and outside of your windows don’t have to match. If you want to display the same brilliant white window frames as your neighbours along the front of the house, that doesn’t mean you can’t have a mahogany finish on the inside to match your wardrobe and dressing table. You may like it the other way round: a clean white frame inside and a woodgrain that matches the exterior stone or brickwork of your property.
Alternative to Timber
Timber and woodgrain finishes have a classic elegance, but they are fairly neutral choices. If you really want to get creative with colour, you should consider coloured windows, doors and conservatories.Take a look at these colour swatches from our suppliers Synseal to get an idea of all the colours that are available.
