Winter Warmer: Conservatory Warm Roof Conversions07/09/2018
2018 will be remembered as the year without a spring. We went straight from the ‘Beast from the east’ snow event to the summer heatwave. Now autumn has arrived there is a distinct chill in the air. Modern conservatories keep in the heat much better than older models. If you are thinking of upgrading to a model that you can use all year round, come and see us. But there is another option that is increasingly popular: warm roof conversions.
Guardian Warm Roofs
Conservatories Etc are experienced installers of Guardian Warm Roofs. We’ve made a short video explaining how we remove your conservatory’s glass roof and install an insulated and tiled replacement. The whole transformation will only take a few days and can be completed with minimum disruption to your home.
Four Step Process
There is a simple four-step process that we follow when installing your roof:
- Framework. We remove the old roof and install a framework consisting of a supporting ringbeam and timber rafters.
- Roofing. The three-layers of the roof consist of a plywood base, insulative membrane and tiled finish.
- Exterior Trim. We fit skylights, ridges, endcaps and guttering.
- Interior Finishes. Further insulation is installed between and over the rafters. Our electricians can install a variety of lighting options. The ceiling is fitted with insulative plasterboard and fully plastered.
